Some tips:
-Get the 4/5 S1 'Ringmail' set as priority, the 1.5 secs of grounding is awesome esp combined with the enhance talent that further reduces cooldown by 2 secs, that you'll want to take as a pvp resto. Gem it up with resilience gems and chants where you can, otherwise stam.
-Alternatively, some restos choose to go with 4/5 of the Elemental set for the pushback resistance to lightning spells, combined with earthshield this can make your lightning bolts almost uninterruptible, which is nice when you have to help nuke down an opponent from time to time. 4/5 of the Elemental and the rest of your gear Resto focused should still leave you with a solid +healing stat.
-Get the S1 'Mail' gauntlets rather than the Ringmail ones. The extra range for your shock spells is more important for rank1 frostshock kiting and earthshock interrupts.
-Get the vindicators ringmail belt, boots, bracers, sergeants heavy cloak, both the veterans and vindicators rings. Get the S1 mace, enchant with 81 healing, and Shield Wall, enchant with 15 resilience. I'd hold off on the Shieldwall though as it has no +healing on it, and rather wait for S2 to get the Redoubt, or use arena points.
-Alternatively, buy the season 0.5 honored gear now available (Seer's Ringmail set) and wait for S4, which will make S2 available to get via honor points. Again, make sure you get the Elemental gloves rather than the Resto ones, for the same reason (shock range increment)
-As for spec, the cookie cutter pvp spec is now 0/20/41, speccing for Imp Ghost Wolf, reduced Grounding Totem cooldown and Toughness. This spec gives you much needed mobility and better survivability, and plays almost like a resto druid(minus the hots). Skip on Improved Chain Heal and Manatide/Improved Totems. You might want to pick up Healing Grace now, however, as the 30% dispel resist can help get a little more bang out of your Earthshield and Bloodlust.
-As for tips, keep your Grounding totem down *always*. Keep poison cleansing down when you can. Earthbind as well. Searing can be good or bad depending on how cc heavy your team is.
-Always enter the arena in ghostwolf form, makes you immune to sap, and you are harder to see at range so reduces your chance of getting focused right of the bat. Dont bother with Earthshield on anyone else at the start as you *will* probably get focused as soon as you cast a heal. Never cast chainheal, it's like instant 'aggro' and shows opponents exactly where you are, and is generally useless in 2v2 and 3v3 except if all 3 of you are in the thick of it together.
LHW and HW are your friends. Use Improved ghostwolf and frostshock r1 to kite rogues. Warriors are your kryptonite though, although Toughness may help you get away from their spamstring. Abuse pillars, LoS etc etc. Lastly, realise that even with our recent buffs we still aint no druids or disc priests. To play to our strengths we have to be more offensive - interrupt enemy healers where you can, Purge everything in sight, cast Chain Lightning/LB on low hp dudes whenever you get a chance, and make sure you pop BL before you die (dont be too hasty right at the start though, it's usually a good idea to wait a bit for the right time if you can)
