Restart your device for night surfer...?

So I lost normal data the other night (morning) when silly me thought I was using my Helkom night surfer...it was around 1:30am so I was well within the times allowed.

When I finally got a response from Helkom this is their response:

Hi, Please note for you to consume your night data you need to restart the connection at 00:00 midnight then start browsing. ^TM

WTF? Is that for real? I also wonder if this is just BS as the phone I use to hotspot for my data was turned off anyway until I got home from work and started up my PC etc. So in essence even if this were true the phone would have made a 'fresh' connection?

And if this is true why is not stated BOLDLY so you know?

Mine seems to switch over without issue. I'm using a B315 router.

Best is to restart the router... There is a script you can run to restart the router.. google it and apply a scheduled task to run at 00:05 and 6:55

I'm on Soft Cap 100. I run my downloads from 11pm and it switches seamlessly to midnight surfer every time.

Will try it again and do a restart when I get home tonight and see if it makes any difference.....

Well, it seems that helkom deal is a scam....its now 1:30am and I have restarted my phone twice but it makes no difference, they just take data from my normal package....I should have known....anything to do with the government....sketchy!

No issues with my router, switches automatically.

Make sure you're not roaming on MTN's network.
