Guys,

Have to entertain some people this weekend and need to find a good restaurant to go to in JHB. Normally i would take these people to Villamoura or Pigalle but they have some vegetarians accompanying them.

Any ideas of restaurants in the league of two I mentioned above but which caters for vegetarians too. I am at a loss here.

Oh, must be restaurants in JHB. Thanks

Spur ?

Fk that any client or friend who can't sit and eat at Spur. They don't need my business or friendship :p

Theres that Portuguese restaurant in Turfontein that make the Best prawns ever apparently.... Forgot the name...

Monte is not THAT bad......and verduccio is very nice if u get a table downstairs,
otherwise there used to be some nice places in the design quarter in fourways...

Sides is looking good, will need to confirm what their menu is, because the mains, have no veggie options

For Veggies I think the Indian restaurants will have the best variety right?
Maybe Moyos aswell, although im not a fan of their food.

A few I'd recommend:

All do vegetarian and I'd recommend them all...

Sorry if this sounds rude but if these are you choices, you need to get out more, DJK.

The food at the Raj restaurants is mediocre at best and Bukhara is overpriced with crap service.

Catweasel, if you are willing to travel a bit out of Jhb, try Roots at Forum Homini.

Linger Longer is great, nice choice tau! They have a starter with scallops which is delicious but you're right about the price, it aint cheap :D.

I remember a few vegetarian options that looked acceptable.

Vegetarian! I don't do vegetarian, so went through the list on dining-out and identified those I remember having decent meals at. Maybe you went with the wrong people if you didn't enjoy your meals there. I certainly did...

How would my dining companion improve the service of the restaurant staff ??? At best his masculine charms would make me forget - momentarily - the bad service :D

You must learn that in a capitalist country, service is of the utmost importance, because the competition is waiting to knock a bad restaurant off the list.

By the way, Trishna in Illovo closed a while back.

I'm not too sure about joburg but if you are in the Cape Town area be sure to check out restaurants in cape town, they seem to give a pretty good guide.
