Restoring your car seats

My seats needs some serious restoration, but I can't find anything on Google about what car seats are on the inside. The leather is messed up, I know of a place that can fix that, but also the cushion part (I can feel the metal inside when I drive).That only leaves me with two options, 1. Watch Pimp my Ride a lot and make notes. 2. Take my current ones apart.
I only have 3 Pimp my Ride episodes, and taking them apart to make notes + designs...erm... I'm not keen on that.

Thanks Libs. It seems apparent that I need a garage/workshop and a big workbench. But as it does give a clue, I have no idea how to build my new seats.

It's a skill to recover your car seats if you do it yourself it's probably going to look like crap.

The leathering I'll let it be done professionally. I don't have that skill.

i would say go to your nearest dealer, doesnt really matter who it is and ask them who they use to transform their cloth seats to leather seats ??

They will look very bad in a Datsun 1200 GX. I might as well just put racing stripes on and lights under the car.
