Evening guys

So as the title says, this is my last month at work. The company has retrenched us giving us only 30 days notice, we were all blindsided as we never saw it coming. I am desperately looking for something asap. So please mybb community, if you know of any companies hiring think of this thread.

I am an IT Helpdesk/service manager with a Bcomm in Information Systems doing my honors, living in Johannesburg. I am willing to take a lower position as I'm now in an undesirable position.

why not apply at webafrica, afrihost/axxess etc?
bidorbuy, mweb, multichoice....

and you might laugh... security companies(they do have callcentres), direct marketing companies(besides sales they have other departments)

Thank you for mentioning those companies Venomous, I'm putting my cv out there and the more companies I apply at the better, I will check them out and apply. This is the most devastating and heart wrenching time I have ever been through. Thanks again.
 
Can you explain what it is you used to do and what you see yourself being able to do?

Not that it matters , but what area do u reside in?

I am currently acting as the main point of contact for the Helpdesk division, overseeing timely delivery of quality technical support services. Managing and maintaining all Helpdesk SLA’s, KPA’s and SOP’s. Conducting training to new clients and also have intermediate experience on MS SQL 2008. There are quite a lot I can do, don't wanna limit myself really and there's still room for learning and developing.

I'm in Johannesburg.

Being a company representative on this forum leaves you at the fury of unhappy customers who are A LOT tougher behind the keyboard than in real life. I like to think they get the big bucks.

It would be cool if all companies were represented or at least given the chance to defend themselves. In the long run it seems that having an online rep is beneficial to your company image no matter how much lip service they deliver :D

Well the good thing about being a Helpdesk manager is that you deal with the most irate clients at times, so that's something I'm used to dealing with. I do agree though, reps are valuable for all companies.

Gemini, if you don't come right with the PM's, post your CV on all the online recruitment websites you can find. Most companies these days use recruitment agencies and they'll just refer you to their agents. I got my current job within a month this way.
