retrieving emails / sms on a galaxy s3 mini

Morning guys,

a college of mine got a unsavoury email on his stock standard SGS3 mini - and at first deleted it but now wants to follow up on it and find out who send it.

is there any way one can retrieve deleted emails or sms's ?

Depending on how long ago he deleted it, it might still be in his Deleted Items folder on the mail server.

edit: just try and login into the web interface, and searching for it there.

sorry guys was busy yesterday, was actually an sms.

apparently this employee sent it to someone else as well, but got the spelling wrong on the sms to the boss. he thought this guy was asking him for money to buy "crack" instead of "krag"

Anybody know how to change to smsc number on this handset? customer is on Telkom Mobile contract and cannot send sms's. Have tried sim swop and other voodoo. There is no option on handset to change smsc and there are free sms's available on balance and additional airtime.
