Retro Gaming TV Stick

Good for a family to sit down and play games like Super Mario, Sonic and others.

Just note there are a lot of repeat roms/games, like 200 different variants of Super Mario and so forth.

From takealot its a lucky packet cause it can sport anything from Amlogic 8726-MX (12 year old CPU) to a Amlogic S905M (Stronger than RK3326 / R36S)

So mileage may vary.

Yes retro arch is a good little emulator station once you set it up.

Just hated the bios setup and looking for it online.

But one thing about retro arch is the save game feature, that’s legit cool for those old school games that had no save feature.

Yeah Kinhank have a good system which they implement with their tech.

The games and rom choices are soooo much better. It’s like they take the time of day to put decent games on.

The diy projects are okish, it’s just finding the roms and setting up the retro machine, that’s the shitty part ( bios )

Nucs are easier to install emulation software on, mini pcs with Retrobat installed and setup are boss.

I don’t like the raspberry pi - it’s fun but not my type.
 
What you can do if you have the time and money is buy a small second hand nuc, order a sd card from Ali with Bactocera or Rerobat installed and boot up from the sd card instead of the internal.

Quick easy and efficient.

Games, roms and Homebrew all installed ready to go.
 
Dual boot helps a lot as well, installing the software or front end of either pc or pi is simple, it’s just getting all the games CHD files for your old disk based retro consoles like ps1, ps2, Sega Saturn etc.

So installing the front end and booting from the nuc was simple enough. And when I wanted to download another game I’d boot into windows go download the Rom/CHD file, pop it into the directory, scrape the image then boot from the sd card with the front end installed with everything set up.

I actually ended up giving my raspberry pi away, so ****ign complicated for me.

You do know that Batocera has Samba/SMB so you can literally just copy the games via Windows share in explorer :D

That said I am planning to run Bazzite on my K8 so that will merge EmuDeck + Steam games in one front end.
