My brother and me recently inherited an old PC from my grandfather. It's a box I built for him years ago.
The plan is to load it with classic games. Everything from Police Quest to GTA1 and Duke Nukem 3D.
The specs:
One of those AMD 486 Overdrive CPUs, 133 MHz
32MB RAM
S3 2MB PCI
Genius Sound Card
+/- 135 MB HDD
Windows 3.1

Does anyone have an old hard drive that we can buy? IIRC these boards will handle up to 8.4GB. Want to load Win 98 etc.

Why bother?

Why not? Sound like a fun little project. Think it may be difficult sourcing a working drive that old, but I'm sure plenty of folks still have some stashed away somewhere. I still had a 2gig hard drive at my parents house until last year when it was thrown out.

Good luck, feel like playing some SQ2 right now!

I won't bother with the PC. I got all the classic games on my PC, and can play all of them. Just use emulators like Dosbox or Scumvvm, etc.

Thanks guys. I have the emulators, but I prefer the real thing. I found an old 4 gig drive which I will use.

I think I have one of those drives at work. I'll only be able to confirm in a months time, when my leave ends. If I pop in to work for some weird reason before then, i'll have a look. Also, you can get the drive at no charge.
