I have a Blackberry Storm 9500 which I bought online via on a popular online auction here in South Africa and now it has stopped working and I want to return it for repairs/replacement. I have scoured the RIM website for ways on how to do this but still cant get an headway because it seems standard procedure is to send back to your carrier which implies that one has it on contract. But still im not on contact and I didnt buy it direct from any of the service providers it seems ive been left in a lurch. Anyone knows how I can resolve this or anyone who has been in a similar circumstance?

You need to contact the original seller, the local service providers will not honor a warranty unless the phone was purchased through them. Your only other option is to return it directly to RIM.

This is the problem with grey products. It's a cheap buy, but you have no effective guarantee.
