I've seen plenty fail spectacularly when attempting my preferred method of reverse parking.
Edit: a couple of weeks ago a witnessed a bakkie driver in a rush (he jogged to his bakkie) hop into the driver's seat and quickly reverse out of the bay at a shopping centre. Unfortunately, in the 3 seconds it took for him to start the car and reverse out a car had made its way into his path and he slammed his rear into the driver's side of the smaller car.
I couldn't help but wonder how easy it would've been to avoid that if he had reverse parked
