I've seen plenty fail spectacularly when attempting my preferred method of reverse parking.

Edit: a couple of weeks ago a witnessed a bakkie driver in a rush (he jogged to his bakkie) hop into the driver's seat and quickly reverse out of the bay at a shopping centre. Unfortunately, in the 3 seconds it took for him to start the car and reverse out a car had made its way into his path and he slammed his rear into the driver's side of the smaller car.

I couldn't help but wonder how easy it would've been to avoid that if he had reverse parked

Depends on the space. Sometimes it's nearly impossible to pull in forward. But I always reverse park - I used to work at a mine and safety dictated that we always reserve park in case of a hasty retreat!

98% of the time it's reverse park. Especially with the bakkie as it turns sharper if I reverse. The turning angle driving forward is just too wide.

I always parralell and reverse park, everyone thinks I'M weird for doing it.

I have not reversed into a parking, normal and parallel since doing my driving test. :o

You will be amazed at how much easier and quicker it is. Try it, takes a bit of practice at first. Once you get the hang of it you will never park head first again. If you know how to use the side mirrors it's a breeze. Don't look over your shoulder through the back window. Just use the mirrors.

At my office we have to reverse park. They take photos if you don't and email it out to everyone - very childish - but they do it. At malls and other parking lots I generally try to park by pulling in forward and where there are 2 parking's available I just drive into the next one, making it look like I reversed parked. I very rarely reverse park when don't have to.

I just park the car straight in, and all over the lines most of the time. It's fun to troll people sometimes...the reactions I got this one time when I took up 3 bays in a crowded pre-christmas period mall...

Depends on the parking lot. Prefer to reverse in where possible, makes it easier to come out with no pedestrians and cars in my blind spot...

Have you made your MyBB Bad Parking Pics thread debut yet?

Always reverse park when possible crew checking in. 15 extra seconds to start with makes your life so much easier when you leave.

It depends on my mood if I am honest. Most the time I park in forward, just easier. But I do prefer reverse parking. Do it at work in the mornings.

Wow. They have time for such pedantic crap?
