Review: Prism - Katy Perry

I was apprehensive with Katy Perry, never taking her too seriously as an artist and always considered her in the league of "boy-bands".
How wrong I was.

She can sing and more importantly, she can write.
She has a hand in all her songs and this comes across through the personal and almost intimate lyrics.
It allows a listener to identify with the emotion in the lyrics and the vocals.

With strong vocals, intimate lyrics and a powerful performer, she is also able to retain the interest in her album by keeping the songs fresh and delivers a worthy product.

This is a must have and your gf will show her appreciation on so many ways when you gift her this via iTunes, CD or even *cough*mix tape*cough*.

I don't know if they auto-tune the hell out of her in studio or if she should just give up on the gimmicks of flying around in harnesses while performing, etc.

I dig her music - didn't at first - but its as catchy and fresh as Pop music ought to be.

And she's not afraid to have a laugh at herself in her music videos or in general.

I completely agree. After my experience with the Rihanna show I have realized that most of the artists are studio artists and the real performers, like Lady Gaga, is one in a 1000 000.

Lyrically - I think that KP has been rather honest about her music and that its her dealing with her issues.
Roar - as silly (in a nice way) dinky tune that it is, one can easily tell its her dealing with her personal issues.

A lot of KP's lyrics seem to be very close to her heart (if you will)

I think that's actually why I really enjoy her music because live it is OBVIOUS that she isn't lip syncing and that she's actually doing it herself while performing all the other antics.

With anyone else I almost always find myself asking why they aren't out of breath or they stay pitch perfect and there's an obvious conclusion for that.

I think she mint mature really well over the next ten years.
