MaD, if it is okey by you, I would like to revive and old thread of yours posted 09-02-2004 15:30 : Hellkom Site - Can anyone rcmnd Printing co's?

<b>Anyone up for having a few hundred (or however many) Hellkom T-shirts printed?</b>

We must come up with some designs like the guys at laughitoff.co.za do and print some shirts and wear 'em... then we've got an excuse to get away from the computer - to go show off our new T's [:D] I'm gonna have one printed for myself anyways (I know a family friend here in CT that manufactures T's, jackets, beanies, whatever merchandise one needs pens, frisbees etc etc).

We run a small screen printing business and I would gladly take on this task. If the T's do well and we receive enough interest (and I know we will), we can introduce other items as well: caps, mugs, pens, mouse pads, golf balls, bar coasters, ect, ect...

That let me thought of a few ideas: :D :D
Wouldn't it be nice...
  • to club a few telscum golf balls around in the bush
  • to sip coffee out of a Melk-hom mug while you wait for your damn call to be taken at the telkom helpdesk.
  • to dress up and go show of my new Hellkom T and DjouMa cap at the local pub.

The logos look great (and I will wear mine proudly) and it would help the anti-Telkom scum war if we can get something visual out there on the streets which will show that we are getting serious about this now. Proceeds can also be donated to various other similair causes like "TAG".

Everyone: let us know what you think!
I am eagerly waiting your response!!

The only way this situation is going to change is:

True competition (more than just two telcos, price is a result of competition)

Cheap international bandwidth and uncapped local.
(If local is uncapped, more SA business opportunity.)

New technologies (cheaper ways of getting the connection to your home, like PLC)

Revolutionary products (ADSL2+, VDSL, PLC, FIBER, all with triple play options)

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but Neotel only have R11bn budget for 10 years. I think Telkom are going to spend more than that on there network upgrade? Do you think Neotel can aford a price war? Telkom will match anybody's price, but hang on... GTS 90Mbps? wow!!!

Ot?

That may be so, but it may be OT... just my opinion ;)

Yeah, maybe that's true, and I really wish me (jan armgat) could bring all this to you. Let's hope GTS will.

In the meantime it would great to wear a hellkom shirt, wouldn't it?
