So RFID wallets... Seems to be the biggest thing to hit the market regarding wallets. I'm sure we have all seen the video where a person with a scanner can just breeze pass you and take your hard earned cash. RFID tech has been used successfully all over the world... London, Hong Kong and it's very convenient. Heck, even Garmin have added that functionality to their new Fenix 5 Plus watches.

Do you think there's value in getting a RFID wallet and ditching the traditional wallets? Is it a fad?

Just interested in peoples' thoughts.

I do need a new wallet, so I am considering one. Will be cool to hear other people's opinions.

Not a gimmick orr a necessity imo.

For me personally it would hamper my life as right now i do not need to remove my card from my wallet to tap for public transport. (and that in itself is a huge +, sometimes morning busses packed to the brim is quite challenging to get your card out).

Also that walking past with a big ass machine to tap your card... lol. no.

Well the leather wallet scratched my cards (specially the Smart ID) because there's not many dividers and you put cards back to back etc. so it was a no brainer to get an Aluma type wallet (RFID is added bonus). Should've done it sooner.

Same reason why I have one- I also don't carry cash if I have any choice at all.

Just the other day I actually thought of ditching my traditional leather wallet for something else. A couple of times in the last few weeks when I whent out, I didn't take my wallet with, I just put my card in my jeans pocket. Will see what I come up with, at most I have 4 cards and I don't carry cash.
Don't really know why I keep receipts as that's the thing taking 95% of space in my wallet, every couple of months I'll anyway just chuck all of it out if the wallet gets too big.

Had a discussion about this yesterday too:

Thats why one needs a wallet like this (available at Game, Dischem and Checkers Hyper, well that's where I have seen them):

Mine has about 9 cards, smart ID and drivers license in it.

PSSST: the indestructible part is a lie, I'm on my 3rd one :crylaugh:
