RHCE 7

You should maybe look at the Linux Foundation certification -> much more relevant in the cloud world. Its a relatively knew certification, is performance based and you can write the exam from home so a much better reflection of real life situation. Basically can you perform the task required on the distro of your choice in the allotted time.

Being vendor neutral its getting a lot of attention in business due to the distro agnostic nature of the cloud which is dominated by Ubuntu.

R24 800 for a cert that a) doesn't hold its weight vs RH certs b) is more expensive that RH certs / bootcamps. For that money I could do an RHCSA and RHCE bootcamp and BOTH exams, so its a ludicrous suggestion at best

How you can be promoting this above Red Hat or even LPIC only you know...

Exam is not that hard. Setup a VM and get cracking . You can use centos.

PS.. there is some cool CBT's on kickass.... which you can use to practice. ;)

Just passed it, 266 out 300. Really not easy, but I have compressed documents of 30 pages that will get you through it. You need to setup a vm and practice, practice practice.

Passed first time around?
What's your Linux experience?
How long did you study?
What materials did you use to study?

Yeah, the training course are expensive. But I guess they do employ Linus :) Don't confuse the training cost with writing the exam. Most certified people I know do self study unless their employer pays for the study.

The problem with RedHat certification is the cloud, a space they are battling in. The cloud is dominated by Ubuntu and employers are looking for Linux admins with vendor neutral skills. People who can deploy and manage Ubuntu, CoreOS etc. RedHat's focus is the old "enterprise" space. The growth is in cloud. Thats why there is growing demand for the Linux Foundation certs and LPI.

My focus is AIX, so my Red Hat experience is limited. Studied 3 months and failed it once before.

Also, I see the title says " RHCE" and I did my " RHCA"
