Received my first RICA one in years yesterday. Reported it to the Vodacom fraud site and immediately forwarded another scam sms I had received to the number I had received the RICA one from. Hope they think I am a fellow scammer and leave me alone

I got the same SMS today.
I phoned the guy and asked him about the promo and why it is not advertised. He gave me a b.s story and said I must SMS the details that he can send the cheque and phone him straight afterwards. I sent him the PO Box number and phoned back.
He told me I must buy R60 MTN airtime (I'm with Vodacom) and send him the pin and serial number but I must not load the airtime onto my own phone. I asked him why. He said that it is "just for the computer to register the reward". I asked him why it must be R60 and if I won the money then why do I have to pay first? Surely they can take the money off the winnings? He said it must be R60, no more and no less.
I asked him why I must buy MTN if I am with Vodacom. I am on contract so I don't load airtime. He said that the promo is for all the network providers and that I must send the money before 4pm to collect my reward tomorrow.
I told him that if he contacts me again I will report him to the police. He hung up.
