Right Angle / Low Profile PCI-e 6 Pin Power Connectors

So I am in a little bit of a predicament and hoping someone here can help me.

I recently purchased new PC parts for a new build. Everything else is fine except for my GPU and case.

I went for the Sapphire R9 380X and Corsair Carbide Air 240. The GPU fits easily length wise but my problem comes once I have connected the two PCI-e 6 pin power connectors, I can't close the side panel of my case. The connectors wires are slightly too tall too hard and if I force the side panels close, there is a bump in it. It can close (with force and a slight bulge) but I'm worried over time the force on the GPU and side panel can't be good. I literally just need a slightly smaller clearance. I don't mind if the cables touch the side panel as long as there is no pressure or bulge.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can get these cables? I have a Corsair VS550 PSU.

Yes and no.

I'd much prefer something local to keep prices down and also one that can connect to the existing PCI-e cables (so like an extension) but low profile or right angle.

Was thinking of something like this but not sure if it will bring down the height enough:

You can also hack your own. If you get yourself two of those pcie extension cables you can remove the cables/pins and using a very sharp exacto or stanly knife cut away the top part of the the connector. This can be neatly done but it means you lose the clip on the connector.

Another option is to find some low profile 6/8 pin connectors locally and make your own extension cables. I'll see if I can find any.

Yeah I thought of doing that, I just need to cut away maybe half the plastic and it should work. I was just concerned how high up the wire connectors start. Surely the clips won't be such a big deal if the cables are connected and the PC stands still?

I'm really running out of ideas which sucks. So really willing to try anything.

Yeah agreed and if it was needed as a matter of urgency, I probably would have ordered them already.
 
So it seems my only options are to live with the bulge in the case or get another case. As its used I doubt I will be able to swap it or return it :(

I went to matrix and looked at there cables, the extension they have are the exact same size as the originals so that won't help. Apparently I also can't cut away at the plastic clip as that will cause the wires to short (that's what I was told).

My only other option then would be to when I use the PC leave the side panel off and when I am done, unplug the cables and close the side panel - I know it will be a pain in the ass but can't think of anything else. Unless I close the case and let it bulge out. My only concern is the amount of dust the PC will collect of left open or is that not too big of a worry?

A dremel will melt the plastic but then you cut a little inside where you want to be and sand the rest. Up to you how you want to cover the hole after that....go wild.

I think that will be my very last resort - never used a dremel (been wanting to buy one for a while tho so maybe this be an excuse). I'm just worried what it will look like after, will take away the whole "clean" look.

This really sucks!!! No point in crying over spilt milk tho.

I need to decide what to do. I know replacing and removing the cover will drive me insane at some point tho.

Why not just get the ones from ebay etc?

Thanks for the offer, where are you located as I might take you up on it :)

I actually thought I mite as well order them and until they arrive will keep removing the side panel when I use it so that the case doesn't get a permanent bulge.

I must just find the correct cable and then order them.

I see one bends to right and the other bends to the left? Also they say they are low profile which is exactly what I'm looking for. Unless there is something better?

Also if there not somewhere else I can get them from as shipping alone is roughly R500
