Rii Mini wireless mouse/kb

I have a RII2 mini that I bought simply because it looks like a remote.

Great for media server (I use it with XBMC).

I still use a normal keyboard/mouse if I am going to be doing lots of work on the pc though.

Thanks for the reply.

I saw that one, but opted for the i8 because of the Volume/Pause/Play shortcuts.
Looks like it's been around for some time!

I find them frustrating and fiddly to use, although the one I had is not exactly the same. I tossed it, now using a full size wireless keyboard mouse combo. A discreet storage area for it is close by, however.

I have one for my media center pc, I dont use it all that often because I have a remote as well. But I've had my keyboard for more than year and half and still haven't had the need to charge it yet.

As I use xbmc I just use the keyboard shortcuts (with a few keys I modified) so P is pause, + and - are volume up and down etc. I still have Fn+F3-F8 as a backup/alternative though :)

Also, just a general reply on mine, the battery lasts me around 6 to 8 weeks before it needs a recharge.
I can use it anywhere I can see the tv and then in all the surrounding rooms as well.

Great little device, I am sure yours will live up to your expectations :)

I have a decent logitech Wireless mouse & KB,
which I find too cumbersome to operate while loungin' & the range is pathetic on the mouse.
Lets hope this is better, 4-5m is enough for me.. they claim 10M

Yeah, fortunately I have a large drawer in a coffee table which is super convenient, so I can slide open the drawer a touch for normal media center duties, or haul it out with the mouse for PC duties. So it won't work for everyone.

I have the Microsoft combo that was on a recent Game special, range is good, it's a full 5m from the receiver and works faultlessly.

I also have a Microsoft keyboard but for most media viewing I just use the RII.
I tend to sit in various places in the lounge and my wife also uses it so a full size keyboard is not really the best of ideas.

Add to that, my daughter at age 2 killed my last wireless keyboard/mouse combo with a cup of juice.
She also killed an old laptop in the same way. The RII is easy to wrap in clingwrap between charges :)

Hi All

I just ordered one of these for my Media centre PC

Does anyone have any feedback of these?
Anyone own similar?

They seem very handy for the price.

I shall post some feedback when it arrives.

I own the exact model. Bought it during the "R200 discount frenzy of 2014". Paid R142, bonus.

Pros:
All the keys found on a full size keyboard can be found here.
Extra media controls.
Rechargeable and once charged, lasts for a long time.

Cons:
No backlights, difficult when watching series in the dark.
Kinda big, requires two hands to operate.
Not bluetooth.
Mouse track pad is sometimes sticky.
No Laser like my previous one.

Closing thoughts:
Great mini rii keyboard/mouse for your Media server. But for me the price was the biggest factor.

I saw this one for R314 at Supatronics comes with the keyboard and mouse. not bad plus free shipping
