"the thing is, in Rio they can blame the violence on the drugs, and here!!!! we simply have a lot of animals running around with no respect for others lives."

im not sure what part you cannot understand, but let me try anyhow. They have a drug war going on in RIO, if its not too obvious to you, South America is one of the largest producer of narcotics, so its obvious you will have drug wars, hence the violence !!! We have drug wars, yes specifically on the cape flats in the WC, however the rape, murder, hijacking and general abuse of woman and children cannot be blamed solely on drugs

Perhaps you can rephrase your original post to say exactly what you meant because clearly it came out wrongly. :erm:

Of course there are criminals that don't do drugs but there is a good number of them that take drugs.
In your initial statement you implied that the violence in SA cannot be attributed to drugs but rather "we simply have a lot of animals running around with no respect for others lives" That statement right there does not say anything about there being a possibility that some of the violence is attributable to drug abuse.

Also even in RIO not all violence can be attributed to drug wars/drug abuse. There are teetotal thieves, murderers, rapists, hijackers there too you know.

We do have a drug war. The consequences of that spill over. The drug war breeds particularly extreme violence. Someone encroaches on your territory you kill them and everyone they know. To induct new recruits you have them commit acts of violence to prove themselves. But we also have other factors that have effectively destroyed a lot of people. Maybe more of Rio's violence is due to the drug conflict.

You obviously have not heard of the new drug called IWUNGA (ARVs+ Rat Poison+ Washing Powder+ Ganja ). It's very popular amongst township/squatter camp youths. Recently two families were wiped out in Durban (Pinetown) by the scumbags that were high on this sh#t. It's driving them insane and they become extremely violent.
Were they assessed and found completely non-violent when sober? All I read about whoonga sounds like typical urban myth bullsh**, but I'm sure you can provide proof. I'd love to read an article on it that doesn't come across as raving sensationalism.

Of course there are criminals that don't do drugs but there is a good number of them that take drugs.
It's largely irrelevant whether they do or don't.

Is it the drugs or just poverty and corruption to blame? (mostly) See a correlation between our countries now?

I thought there was nothing wrong with drugs and that you wanted it legalized?

I never said that I want ALL drugs legalised, but rather that each and every drug should evaluated on it's own pros and cons. Do you generalise when it comes to race and religion as well?

Typical media carp. In South Africa there's this drug that everyone is taking using medicine they should be using to treat their HIV ( which everyone has) ! It's ravaging society (the drug) ! Not only that you can buy AK 47's on the street on discount right now for R49.90 and find someone to kill someone with it for R50 extra ! R75 combined deal, but this week only !

But just try and find some of these things.

Sigh. Silly media and the people who swallow all of it.

O/T, but does anyone know what kind of weapon this guy is holding?
