RIP Charlie Kirk

You should have stopped right there.

??

Ok. Educate me.... I'm happy to take correction on the chin, when it is due.

Go ahead. Explain why my suspicion is wrong.

p.s. I'll admit I shouldn't be singling out CNN even though they were quick onto that particular incident in your post. Many of the anti-Trumpers were 'never-Trumpers'... on the RINO side!!! One prominent example being Mark Levin.

All those lame-stream dinosaur media types sound the same to me. 2 wings of the same, Epstein-class bird of prey.

Let's not forget his views on how kids being shot in classrooms is a small price to pay for FREEDUM GUNZ and how women should just accept they're a subservient species to men.

I wonder if if he changed his mind about gun deaths ? In heaven, he must be thinking it was all worth it, ne ? New kind of Jesus, if you will.

For the god loved his other son so much, he shot him this time.

Sure, I am sure he is at peace knowing his death was worth it. At least he didn't plan his own fake assassination like the orange pedo.

Maybe he did and it all went wrong. I wonder if there were any volunteer fire fighters near him.

People are really f__King stupid about his quotes.
Prior to saying that, he said we have to be honest and real with the population, and mentioned how it’s unrealistic to completely wipe away gun violence, or driving accidents as another example.

“We need to be very clear, you are not going to get gun deaths to zero,” he said. “It will not happen. You can significantly reduce them, by having more fathers in the home, by having more armed guards in front of schools. We should have a honest and clear reductionist view of gun violence, but we should not have a utopian one.

For that according to leftists, he deserves to be assassinated.

If you wanted a conversation about gun rights, you need to change the 2nd amendment, and for that you need a large portion of the population to agree with you. Likely you need to trade something. So what would leftists trade for gun control? Immigration, Income tax? Woman voting?

Is that something that conservatives are upset about? Should non-white people being allowed to vote be thrown in there too?

Don't get your gender neutral panties in a knot, I was being hyperbolic. Besides which if the 19th was scratched out, there would never be a democrat elected again, and republicans could change the constitution for any reason subsequent to that, so that likely would never be something that would get traded, even for gun regulation. Ditto for anything that does a genuine shift in voting power.

What a weirdly distorted interpretation....

Nobody deserves to be killed for their personal beliefs. Why do you equate criticism with supporting murder?
Misrepresenting what he said implies he deserves to be killed. He made an entirely reasonable statement such as: you cannot get gun crime down to zero. Meanwhile it was interpreted as: "he thinks some people deserve to die to protect the second amendment, and therefore his supporters should be fine with him getting murdered in gun violence"

I think the cost of doing business thing comes from this quote,

I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.

Didn't he say that collateral damage was justified to hold on to 2A?

He shouldn't be killed for that, of course; neither should his death be celebrated by any reasonable person. it's totally normal to note the irony of him becoming part of the collateral damage that he believed to be justified though.

I could also understand if people who had, for example, survived a school shooting, held stronger views against him.

I think the cost of doing business thing comes from this quote,
Full quote.

CHARLIE KIRK (TPUSA PRESIDENT): The Second Amendment is not about hunting. I love hunting. The Second Amendment is not even about personal defense. That is important. The Second Amendment is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government. And if that talk scares you-- wow, that's radical, Charlie, I don't know about that. Well, then you have not really read any of the literature of our Founding Fathers. Number two, you've not read any 20th century history. You're just living in Narnia. By the way, if you're actually living in Narnia, you would be wiser than wherever you're living, because C.S. Lewis was really smart. So I don't know what alternative universe you're living in. You just don't want to face reality that governments tend to get tyrannical and that if people need an ability to protect themselves and their communities and their families.

Now, we must also be real. We must be honest with the population. Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty. Driving comes with a price -- 50,000, 50,000, 50,000 people die on the road every year. That's a price. You get rid of driving, you'd have 50,000 less auto fatalities. But we have decided that the benefit of driving -- speed, accessibility, mobility, having products, services is worth the cost of 50,000 people dying on the road. So we need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero. It will not happen. You could significantly reduce them through having more fathers in the home, by having more armed guards in front of schools. We should have a honest and clear reductionist view of gun violence, but we should not have a utopian one.

You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I am -- I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe.

So then how do you reduce? Very simple. People say, oh, Charlie, how do you stop school shootings? I don't know. How did we stop shootings at baseball games? Because we have armed guards outside of baseball games. That's why. How did we stop all the shootings at airports? We have armed guards outside of airports. How do we stop all the shootings at banks? We have armed guards outside of banks. How did we stop all the shootings at gun shows? Notice there's not a lot of mass shootings at gun shows, there's all these guns. Because everyone's armed. If our money and our sporting events and our airplanes have armed guards, why don't our children?

You just cannot help yourself can you.

The bigger problem the world faces right now is not a bunch of people on social media celebrating someone's death, it's social media addiction. We have this entire generation who is looking to complete strangers on the internet for their sense of validation, self worth and acceptance. All of this craziness you see is symptoms of a deepening mental health crises.

The quote makes it out as if he thinks there is nothing to be done against it and it is just a cost. When the full quote does not.

And I might add, no country has 0 gun deaths. Do you think France had a vibrant gun culture when some terrorists decided to culturally enrich Charlie Hebdo?

South Africa has all the gun regulation lefties could want and yet criminals manage to get ahold of guns without much effort.

For the amount of guns the US has, it is remarkably peaceful.

Yes, no country has 0 gun deaths, but it's ridiculous to compare a first world country with South Africa and its law enforcement "challenges".

If you compare the US with other first world countries, their rate of gun deaths is absolutely shocking. And yet they do bugger all about it.

Thoughts and prayers to them.

A violent person is never deterred from his choice to engage in violence simply because others have given up or lost their right to choose. South Africa, with the highest murder rate on the planet, is prime example of this. Even when the right that law abiding citizens have to own a firearm has come under some of the strictest control measures around, violent criminals are not impeded in any way, shape or form by those measures because they do not subscribe to the same laws that law abiding citizens do.
