Goodbye E3

What was once considered the biggest annual event in the gaming calendar is no more.

The Washington Post has received a statement from the organiser of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) confirming that the blockbuster gaming showcase has been cancelled permanently.

sad news, but im sure with time it will be resurrected.

even locally, RAGE disappeared and then returned.

E3 was on its last legs. It was dying a long time ago. Now with the digital times, many companies have opted to do their own product launches, presentations, etc. Add political and social issues, and it turns into a challenge.

More and more trade events are being moved in-house.

Lockdown destroyed many businesses just a drop in the bucket of companies going down because of useless governments.

Only 3 weeks hey don't worry!

The pandemic spelled an end to their ride, but their own issues started in the 2010s already. You can't blame the government when your business model stagnated, and leadership was unable to evolve. They were going broke, quick.

In some way, the pandemic was a boon. They realised that it was the end.

Me thinks it was the organisers more than the event. Something else will take its place.
