Nah, tried to overtake a truck. The truck decided I can't. My speed was maybe somewhere between 60 and 100km at the moment of impact. Not sure - It's all fuzzy. Why I said "woke up" coz I blacked out - can't remember the collision itself.

The cabin was almost completely intact after the impact, except for the dash that moved about 10cm inwards. And my notebook is buggered. :cry: It was in its bag in the boot, but the screen smashed against the rear seat during the impact.

The worst I got was a cut above the right eye and some stitches.

The car hit the front right wheel of the truck

Sorry about you loss, at least you are o.k. but need to ask this... can I buy your power steering motor from you :)
 
lol! Funniest things is I got the replacement wheelcap that was ordered some weeks ago as one of the existing ones were chipped - It was delivered today! I think I'll frame it.

I don't know how this works - does the Insurance Company not lay claim on the wreck? If you want, I can give you the contact details of the towing company / panelbeaters.
However, the car has not yet been written off officially. I'm not to clear as to how things will progress from here on out.
 
:o Yeah, yeah, what I meant was that even the insurance guys have not really started doing anything as they are awaiting the AR to be completed by the police (4 DAYS on and still not complete). So I doubt they have all the details of what the condition of the car is at this point in time. That, and the fact that they asked me over the phone on Friday; "You think the car might be a write-off, Sir?" :wtf:

The first installment for the car is going through this week.... :sick:

Thanks, so am I. I'm also glad no-one in the truck got injured - though I suppose that would be a long shot anyway...

Like a shovel trying to lift a building. :p
 
Holy **** that is some serious destruction... you are one lucky guy!!
At least you can still write about it afterwards :)
