Hi there
I've completed the updates to my project design, in that it now has a real-time clock and we can see what is going on with the ripple control system.
Here is the logs for Roodepoort:
Explanation:
Each number is a DECABIT code word. The two exceptions "200" and "126" are "OFF" and "ON" signals for old electromechanical receivers. The other numbers are the decoded digital code words. If a / appears before the number, this means that the command received was an "OFF" command, so for example a / 70 meant channel 70 was turned off.
Any number with a * prefixing it is an error. The number is then the raw bit pattern received, which I used for debugging the decoder routine.
Each line in the log is a complete transmission.
Well-known channel numbers:
23 = GEYSERS
70 = STREET LIGHTS
17 = TURNING ARROWS ON TRAFFIC LIGHTS
From the logs, we can see roughly that weekday transmission times are:
05h06
VARIABLE SLOT (Varies according to seasonal effects, i.e. streetlights)
07h06
08h06
10h06
15h06
19h06
20h06
23h06
Transmissions do occur between these times. From the logs one can also see the occasional retransmission, particularly when there were errors.
