Again? So much for elite unit, these guys are just thugs with nice uniforms and guns
Whats the bet he was under the influence?

Johannesburg - A 29-year-old Johannesburg Central police constable arrested for attempted murder in Limpopo was granted bail on Sunday, police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohale Ramatseba said the policeman's lawyer arranged bail with the Malamulele Magistrate's Court on Sunday, and he was granted bail of R1 000.

"The suspect is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate's Court on Tuesday pending further police investigations," he said.

Ramatseba said the constable, who was attached to the tactical response team in Gauteng, was arrested on Friday for allegedly shooting randomly when his car collided with another car at Mavambe village in Malamulele.

"No one was injured during his indiscriminate shooting," he said.

What a (insert swear word) Jeeez like man.Its sad that this one guy gives them a bad name:mad:

IMO the headline is incorrect. He is not an elite cop. He is a member of an elite unit. Big difference.

Surely you have to be regarded as an "elite cop" before you can become a member of the "elite unit"

The fact that he was able to bamboozle them tells you a lot about their standards of measurement and the lengths they went to to train and prepare these guys.

If this is how they judge the "elite cops" ... I shudder to think what their standards are for "normal cops"! :(

Does anyone here know what car hit him? What were the circumstances here? Was he pissed?

The story says very little other an elite unit cop fired shots. At who, why?

R1000 bail for attemnpetd murder charge? What the F%%$!

Excuse my language but that is ridiculous. Then you hear about a person who is an addict (and genuinely battling to kick thier habit) who got arrested for less than a gram of a substance they unfortunately cant stop using, and they get R2000 bail? Not supporting drug use at all....but just look atthe 2 different situations.

You can hardly be an elite cop when you're a constable and 29 years old. Being (a junior) part of a tactical response unit isn't elite either. Not that it makes much difference, we have far too many police of this calibre in SAPS.
