Road trip through the Eastern Cape

Take a few snaps of the teams running on and some action shots for the first 10 minutes and then skedaddle out of there!!
If only. I need to file photos before, during, and immediately after the match. :o

On my official pie meter I would rate the pies:

Nanaga lamb mint pie - 9/10 (Just outside PE on the EL side)
Shamrock steak pie - 8/10 (East London and other towns in the EC)
Beavers lamb mint pie - 6/10 (they used to be a 9! :(Just as you are about to leave Port Alfred heading towards PE)
Piemans Pie - 2/10

1. OK. nanaga = 60km from Port Elizabeth.
2. You wont make it easily. Bushsmans river also had/has a decent farm stall RED Apple on the hill before you cross the bridge.
3. I have been frequenting these stalls. A little further on the way to Alexandra you will find another farm stall BuondiBlu. Also, very nice and different pies + ginger beer + lemon meringues. Other stuff's not to bad as well. A little further down the road is Tam'Jazi. Unfortunetely cannot comment on their fare.

BTW The best pies are to be found at "Thyme and Again" at Keurbooms close to Plett. I thought Nanaga's to be not a match. Event their milktarts, lemonm., carrot cake etc etc. And in PE, don't miss Starburst Deli in Eastborn WOW!

I think its the other way around.

Only an hour from EL side to PA.
Port Alfred is my usual halfway marker but the stretch from there to fish river is so littered with potholes I'm seriously considering the N2 route.

Stay in slummies and watch the Boks' game on telly, sleep over and then cruise home on Sunday...
Stay in EL on my own dime? Nah. Besides I'd rather have 1/2 the match on the try line than watch it on telly, wouldn't you? :)
