Around Joburg, the roads are full of potholes and not only that, some of the tar surfacing is visibly deteriorating to the point where the brown earth will be shown soon. This is becoming ridiculous and no one seems to be doing anything about it.

Wont be long before we here ...

Yip. So much for the DA. Though I suppose there have been so many motions of no confidence that they have not had any time to actually do anything constructive.

If the government does not address this as a matter of urgency everyone will be needing a 4x4. How will taxis and buses travel on these roads?

The province of potholes, north west province

Cape Town's roads are still pretty well kept, for now at least. You can report them online if you want.
Yup, reported a few potholes in my street thinking they'll just repair the potholes, two weeks later the entire street was resurfaced. Soooo much smoother than before.

Go drive in Mpumalanga and KZN some places theres no road left in most roads between towns. Worse than this picture, craters smack in the middle of the road looks like a meteor hit the road. Monday I hit a pothole on my way to KZN, luckily the rim wasn’t damaged and my front tire threads due for replacement. The lack of foresight to plan to resurface a simple road is astounding.

Lack of preventive maintenance again. What has happened to this country?

Its just getting worse out there...Roads havent been fixed since the last summer rains...
Just progressively getting worse and worse in South Zimbabwe...

Trump wasnt wrong...

Everywhere. Here in the Midlands it is really bad. They do chuck them full of black stuff but when it rains (which is everyday) it just washes away and is worse than before.
They do the same in Cowteng...its especially fun on the potholes that are on corners as all that useless tar just gets pushed back, banks up and creates a sweet little berm to knacker your car up...
