Hi all!

I recently had a Roadworthy test performed on my car and only failed in one area. Apparently my handbrake is uneven, left reading 0.6 and right 0.9.

Does anybody know what this means, how to get it fixed and what would likely be the cost?

urg sometimes it is so pathetic. basically you need to adjust it, it isn't rocket science but if you aren't this way inclined get someone to do it, it shouldnt cost more than R500 imo.

there will be many tutorials online for the type of car. basically one side needs to be tightened up so they lock equally within a specific tolerance.

Thanks! I ended up taking it to Bosch...they said it's R661 for the labour on adjustment. If the brake shoes have to be replaced, which apparently could be a reason for the imbalance, it amounts to between R1200 and R1700. Also got quotes of about R1700 from another brake shop and Toyota themselves. Hopefully it's only the adjustment that's needed.
