Roaming in the US and data ?

My MD is in the US on business and now he is getting APN errors, obviously the US networks dont like vlive as the APN.

I was wandering if anybody has been in a similar situation. He has a Sony Ericsson P1i. For now I have suggested he connects using WiFi.

Any ideas / suggestions ? what connection method do they use in the US ?
