Roaming on MTN - throttled?

If another network roams on MTN, is there a chance they get throttled with data?

Reason I ask is because I bought an 8ta SIM a few days ago (MTN roaming) and checked my signal : 95% HSDPA signal and RSSI of -69 ... Great!

However while testing I get 0.4mbps ... Nothing faster.

What could the reason be?

What speed do you get with an MTN SIM at the same location at a similar time?

I'm getting an MTN SIM on the weekend - so I guess I'll be able to answer my own question then

Please post your results for us to see. Try and check your Cell ID with both SIMs as well.

ginggs - does MTN have a different profile to the rest at all?

Putting the SIM in my Cell C and although it picks up signal, won't connect :/
