I will be going to Swaziland for the weekend. MTN swaziland semm to be the only cell service provider
Currently using Vodacom

So I called Vodacom, MTN and CellC and got the following:

Vodacom:
Recieve call - R6.00 per minute
Call: - R17.50 per minute
SMS send - R2.75
So only option appears to be to set roamon and only receive sms - forget data or anything else!

MTN South Africa prepaid
Recieve call - R2.90 per minute
Call: - R2.90 per minute
SMS send - R1.50 But the consultant said I then have to choose to only recieve sms's and cant make calls??

CellC prepaid
If I am on the 99c per minute package, according to the consultant, I can make calls to South Africa at 99c per minute, but not receive calls?
to recieve SMS would be 50c, but cannot send?

Another option would be to get a MTN Swaziland sim there, but I cannot determine costs.

CellC, MTN, Vodacom reps - please let me know if the info I got from your call centres is correct!

WiFi is available at the hotel and is free, so I will use Skype, but any other advice from the wise forumites on MyBB?

Why is Vodacom 6 times as expensive when calling out, that is crazy....

Looks like Skype is you best option considering that the wireless if for free.

Yes - definately going to use skype, was just interested if there would be any other reasonable options.
The CellC call centre agent seemed confident that I would pay 99c per minute to make calls though - hope the CellC and other reps comment.

Load $10 airtime and use Skype Out Pay as you go if you want to phone landlines or cell phones

This is what I plan to do, i just hope the internet access at the hotel is good enough to use Skype.
