GEORGE NEWS - Shortly after a worried mother from Borcherds reported her 30-year-old son missing on Monday morning 8 May, the police found Jeffrey Robertson's body in a kloof next to PW Botha Boulevard in the industrial area of George.

In this instance it seems the tables were turned on the aggressor as Robertson was fatally stabbed when he and two friends allegedly tried to rob a couple walking down the street in the early hours of Sunday.

The couple was minding their own business at about 01:30 when they were threatened by the threesome.

The man allegedly pulled out a knife in self defence and lunged at the suspects who then ran away.

It is believed that after a while Robertson dropped to the ground while his accomplices continued on their way, unaware of how serious their friend's injuries were.

When he did not show up at home on Sunday during the day, his family started asking around.

A long knife as well as Robertson's backpack was found on the scene and sealed in evidence bags. The police traced the couple later the same day and arrested the man. Both Robertson's accomplices were also arrested. All three men appeared in the George Regional Court on Wednesday 10 May - respectively on charges of murder and attempted robbery. Capt Khunjulwa Sam, Conville Police communication officer, says the investigation is progressing and that statements have been obtained from eyewitnesses, suspects and complainants.

Why arrest the man as well? Was he supposed to wait for the robber to stab him first? He should get a medal for taking out the good for nothing rubbish.
 
He should've gone to the police station and reported that he stabbed someone in self-defence. Can't just keep quiet about it.
 
And here I was assuming George was a quiet little town...

Luckily I have one more night here that I have to survive. Tomorrow I am home free :D

Maybe he was unaware of the result as they ran away?

This place is something else. On my way back to the hotel I got slightly lost and went past a house with probably three police vans outside, lights flashing and yellow tape all over. I will take my windy city any day of the week, thankyouverymuch.

At least I brought some well-needed rain with...CAW is really living up to it's name :crylaugh:

Lol, my brother lives there. Never had problems except for some baboons. Very nice safe town actually.
 
Maybe I'm the problem here...perhaps I brought the bad luck :(

Love that place. Just the weather will get me down at times. Not once have I been there and it didn't rain :-) but also had very hot days. Knysna is a *** town.
