Now this is the way to go... simply put it in the public domain that people can improve their quality of life, and not be greedy and simply make money off people's misery...

Enter Robohand - a device that Van As and Owen invented that is made from cables, screws, 3D printing and thermoplastic. It uses the rotation of a joint to enable five plastic digits to grasp. The device looks like a robot's hand in a science fiction movie, costs about R5000 to make and can be reproduced using plans on the internet and a 3D printer.

Fascinating. Giving the rest a good run for their money.
 
The other day I was pondering the fact that robotic legs have to be so damn expensive surely something simpler will still add huge benefit to someone who is paralyzed.
Why does it need to have all the sensors etc why not just have a system with a gyroscope to balance and a manual control for movement surely that will increase mobility hugely and not be out of reach for nearly everyone.
