Hey guys

I just got my roccat kone+ from prophecy today.

Now i got the driver installed and should be running fine right?....not the case...

When i install it, it tries to update the firmware every time. So driver is installed but when it tries to update the firmware it starts then says it failed. Then mouse stops working, reboot, rinse, repeat.

I've googled it and i see some other people have this problem too but they are mostly windows7 users and im still on XP Pro.

Now i duno if im just daft or what but i cant seem to find a fix for this, i've tried a few different drivers and they all give me the same result. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to: Program Files\ROCCAT\Kone Mouse\64bit

Then run DPInst.exe

There is also a solution here: http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/4737-mouse-roccat-kone-drivers-problem.html

Ok I resolve problem !!!
I go to Control panel --> Windows Update and install new Optional Update. I don't know how ... but to my mouse be there. Probably system don't move new to C:/Windows/system32 but stay in windows Update and he need to instal them in windows menager. It's work and this is most important ... I'm vera happy ...

Does this fix your problem?

My roccat folder doesnt have a 32 or 64bit folder....

So nope, still having issues

Razor once supplied people looking for drivers malware. They quickly removed it though when they discovered it.

To answer your question maybe it failed because the device and its files are in use? Have you tried uninstalling its drivers in safe mode, clearing the cache with SFC /purgecache command then do a reboot. When the wizard pops up cancel it. Then try to install the drivers and such. Just put it in a place where you can access it easily cause you will be using your keyboard for that short period to navigate

Oh I only see now that you are running Windows XP which is most likely 32bit, so yeah you won't have a 64bit folder, look in the Kone Mouse folder for DPInst.exe and see if it solves your problem or not.
