Rock Climbing

So I started indoor climbing about 7 months ago and moved on to outdoor rock climbing about a month or so ago. Have been enjoying it quite a bit and thinking about maybe joining a club to see if they go on any trips kind of thing.

Currently I'm spending a few nights a week at Wonderwall climbing gym and then occasionally go out to Strubens Valley on the weekends

Any other rock climbers on the forums?

Well here are the details of the indoor gym I go to. Really friendly place with lots of friendly people there to help. I'd definitely recommend getting fitter in the gym before going out onto the rocks. There's also a lot of technique to learn before you can really go out on your own.

They sell gear at Wonderwall and you can see the prices on their website. However you can also just rent the gear form them for the first couple of times if you're still trying to decide if it's for you.

If you're looking at starting it as a proper hobby then you'll need to look at buying yourself a harness; pair of shoes; carabiner and then you can typically share a belay device between you and a friend.

If you're looking at taking a step after that to go outdoor rock climbing, you're gonna need to get your own rope and some quick draws in order to do lead climbing.
