I got my hands on the PS3 version this week.

I find the progression too fast. I'm just getting the hang of two strings and it adds two extra strings halfway up the neck :wtf:

Very much enjoying it tho. I do find the strings too soft on the electric after my steel string tho, I end up bending them and playing the wrong note.

haven't played rocksmith but I do play guitar. Been keen on checking this game out.

As for the strings on the Electric feeling softer, just carry on playing and it will eventually become a habit. I can't really say how easy it is on rocksmith to learn but with an amp where you can hear yourself playing it will take a few days and you will stop bending the strings unless you actually want that specific sound.

I'm getting the hang of it. Tho songs I play well on the steel string still sound crap on the electric. It's super sensitive.

I need to figure out how to change the settings on the game tho, because the progression rate is just too fast. I hit a few notes perfectly and suddenly it thinks I'm Eric Clapton.

So before getting this could you play guitar at all?

How much is the game selling for?

There are a couple of different versions. Theres even one that comes with a guitar. I paid R800 for the pcikup to usb cable and the PS3 game.

Yea I've been playing my steel string for about a year now, tho I'm probably way behind what I should be.

I am itching to buy this. Convince me to or not to, please.

I personally really enjoy it. Got it for my wife and she's actually getting rid of her long nails so that she can use my guitar when playing it. If the cable was stolen today, I'd totally buy it again.

Its really cool. Got it for XBox. I play guitar so did not need the edition with the guitar. The concept is brilliant but the implementation is a bit tedious in certain ways. Like having to check the tuning after every attempt at a song. The menu and settings are overly complicated and it took a while to get the hang of how the thing works.

Having said all that once in a song its actually very good. I would have preferred the actual flags on the fretboard which show you which string to hit when to be more visible as I struggle to interpret the screen a bit although it gets better with some practice. Also Im having a battle having to now read the 'music' in terms of strings colours instead of numbers.

Still a very worthwhile buy.

I was close to buying this from BT Games in Brooklyn today. Only problem is that they wanted R899 for it, while it is generally listed for R800. On the BT website it is listed for R815. I will not be ripped off if I can help it.

I amlooking for the PS3 version of this game, which I see Landshark Games has for R775. Has anybody purchased from them before?

On takealot it sells for R625. In the description it says:

The Rocksmith guitar kit is the complete, affordable option for new guitar players who want the high quality that Epiphone guitars are known for. The guitar kit includes the Rocksmith video game, the popular Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Guitar, Rocksmith™ Real Tone Cable, Rocksmith guitar strap and 2 guitar picks. Everything you need to get started.

But I'm guessing at that price it doesn't include the guitar...

Just started this game this week. Played a bit of guitar on and off, and not used to a pick. Gets a bit tedious with checking the screen and the fretboard back and forth, but after getting used to it I can totally see myself learning a couple of songs off of this game.

Can someone link me to the PC version that comes with the guitar and cable? :D

I have it on good authority that Father Christmas managed to secure it on PS3 just for me. Woohoo!

As for the bundles, I cannot seem to find a bundle (including guitar) for PC.

I just want want to check with people who might have bought/tried this game already:
1. As someone who plays the guitar (albeit not super well) is this game worth it as a fun practice tool?
2. Does the 1/4"-jack-to-usb cable work fine for both guitar and bass?
3. I'm curious about that 1/4"-jack-to-usb cable; has anyone tried plugging an acoustic with a pickup into that thing? I've got an acoustic bass I'd like to try it with...
