Rocksmith

I just want want to check with people who might have bought/tried this game already:
1. As someone who plays the guitar (albeit not super well) is this game worth it as a fun practice tool?
2. Does the 1/4"-jack-to-usb cable work fine for both guitar and bass?
3. I'm curious about that 1/4"-jack-to-usb cable; has anyone tried plugging an acoustic with a pickup into that thing? I've got an acoustic bass I'd like to try it with...

1. yes
2. yes
3. yes, but its not great. If I plug in my steel string the sounds are muted and dont ring properly. It all depends on the pickup I suppose.

Rocksmith is Ok but it's not all that simple. You must have the want and will to practice till your fingers goes numb or bleed else it will become just another unwanted burden. But if the will is there the way is Rocksmith plus many tutor videos on U-tube.

Can someone link me to the PC version that comes with the guitar and cable? :D

The bundle will only be available from BT Games, Kalahari, Takealot and Music Mate.

Music Mate will also be demoing the Rocksmith setup in a number of its branches, giving aspiring musicians a chance to try it out.

The best and cheapest is to buy the software + cable and buy your own guitar or even cheaper buy just the cable, download the game and buy your own guitar.

Thanks for the feedback.
On the acoustic topic; are you finding the simultaneous sounds of both the acoustic guitar and the game (guitar via the pickup) an issue? I guess one could just adjust the volume mix and aim for an acoustic-ish version of a song...
