I've just rolled a rogue. What spec is the best for levelling? Any advice is welcome. thanks :)

Heya

For maximum fun, go Sub :) Level in BG's if you want to go PvPing. You get decent XP and Sub is a nice in and out killer spec for lowbies :D Lots of fun!

Why rogue?...back-stabbers. I swear Blizzard is an allie worgan rogue. (can you tell i hate rogues?)

rogues are OP m8! stun lock till they cant anymore. then vanish an sap an wait for DR to finish , k?!

edit: sry :P more on topic! combat is nice if your doing dungeons. blade flurry helps boost meters as aoe is all that matters in those places. for pvp id say sub , very nice mobility spec and great damage. easily can dominate BG's with a few hits u cn kill ANYONE :P

if your going to pvp go subs
if your gonna quest go combat
and if your going to do dungeons go assasin for max dps :)

Yo peeps.

A bit of thread necro but since I am messing around with a rogue (rouge for method :p) I have noticed that I struggle with my dps in dungeons. Granted those op, uber geared pallys / mages usually top the dps meters but I would like to improve my skillz and dee-pee-ess output.

I am current at level 62, have a few heirloom pieces (cape, shoulders, dagger and working on the rest) and the rest blues.

My questions are:
1) Dungeon spec? Assas
2) Rotation at my level?
3) What enchants should I put on them heirlooms?
4) Glyphs
5) Gear
6) Any other advice / links etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jase, I have a lower level rogue that I've been slowly leveling also (75 now) and I also feel they do not do as good as my other heirloom geared toons @ lower levels.

I guess its just how they work. For assas you need to spend some time on a single target for the dps to be decent and in these dungeons the mobs basically die before you can really get going.

I have Sub for questing and PVP and assas for dungeons, but I find myself rather just using Sub in these dungeons as I seem to get an ambush and few backstab in and the mob is dead before I even have energy problems. Only issue is these ambush crits likes to pull aggro :p

So, it does not feel like it really matters @ these levels what spec you are, things just die to quick and other classes get more from the heirlooms & talents?

I noticed this yesterday. I spent a good few hours running dungeons and I could not even get a decent rotation going. The pally would pull everything, aoe like mad with the mage adding his 2c and all I get is a garrote, mutilate and rupture in on one target and everything is dead.

Still immense fun to play though.

The only point I could properly finish a muti rotation was when I started cata instances :(

I used a sub spec from 10-85, with Assassination from 80-85. The "alpha" damage of sub quickly loses it's strength after 80...

I agree with SnowWar, just use Sub in dungeons, spam backstab (iirc the backstab glyph gives 10 energy with each crit) and mobs drop very fast
