Rogue - Need some sneaky sneaky help.

Started a rogue on saterday morning (sitting at level 17 now).
Need some help and general pointers.
One thing , i have yet to SAP one person , i cant seem to get it right. As soon as i hit the sap button i go into combat and mob starts attacking me.

There is 2 things u need to take into concideration

1. ur lvl difference. If the mobs are higher than u they will c u up close.
2. The Stealth abillity in ur talent tree would hel a bit.

However you'll notice there is a abillity called distract. Use that.

It will distract the mobs in the distract range for 10 seconds, giving u able time to sap the mob of higher lvl :D

What is best ..2 swords , 2 daggers , 2 mace , or which combo?
Must have talents for leveling?

Depents on you as a player.

I use dagger mani hand because i use Baackstab allot - Need dagger main hand.
Allot of people use 2 swords or dagger off hand. Bigger Ambush damage but then u can't use Backstab... So it all depends on ur play style.

Assassin is a great build, I however am full Sub. spec'd.... My ambush crits at about 1.1k - 1.3k Damage :D

All up to you mate ;)
 
Oh and another thing...
I see that rogues can use bows etc. Do you use it a lot or is it mainly for pulling purposes?
 
What is the opinion about hand blades?
Any advantages (except looking like wolverine) or disadvantages of using fist weapons?

If I where you on that lvl.

I'd get the dagger from WC with the "Vipersting" mace (WC also) for now. Up to you which u want to use in which hand.

Then for lvl 26 you get "The Butcher" rare drop from SFK with the "Meteor Shard" Dagger from SFK. That is what I would suggest.

Im more of a combat sword build rogue myself, for lvling anyway

Blade flurry is nice :)

It was so funny, I have a duel wielding Hunter. We ran SFK last night. I was the lowest lvl in the group of 5.

At the end of the instance I did 46% of the total damage :eek: Ok must admit I have Fiery enchant on both my swords. I couldn't shoot as the SFK instance is not Hunter friendly. I out DPS'd a Warrior,Shammy and a Rogue. :D

I posted the DM report in Guild chat, some guys on here can vow that it's true ;)

Fiery enchant FTW !
 
lol... you can't compare with other lvl20's when you have 60g+ worth of enchants on your swords :P

Now I have to say that rogue SUCKED! or he was training unarmed combat without using his energy bar... Even with your uber enchants (not that uber if its only fiery) you dont have the melee skills and energy-combo point specials to out dps him.
BTW why fiery enchants? and not +15 agility on both?
30 agil = 30 AP and prob 2% crit rate at your level!

I was just messing around with the hunter till lvl 29 BG's. Have to admit the extra 40 damage on lvl 22 does make a huge difference:o

Gona twink the hunter for lvl 29 BG's 1 Agility and 1 Stamina + Nethercleft leg armour :p

The Fiery is just to look cool while i lvl :D
 
Still no mention of whats the general consensus on fist blades with rogue.
I guess im the only one that wants to look like wolverine :P

Don't know much on horde char tweaking, but make sure you get everything you need from instance drops before level 25! If there is quest rewards you need like the Aliance level 43 green bow obtainable in STV at level 27 make sure you have eneugh exp left to play with as that quest chain alone will result in almost 2 levels of exp!

But part from that Good luck :D tweaking is really fun, and you will have hours of play with that hunter

Now that is unfortunatly true :(
Dagger rogues , in the typical backstab builds is the best in my opinion. But several dual wield sword rogues will tell you their build is best for solo play. Maces seem to be the worst choice for rogues, but still there is a few of these rogues lurking around.
Sword/dagger mix I think is a not that good, but claw-dagger claw-sword builds aint bad. If you can afford the best enchants on them ofc.

Well last night i thought id give it a go in WSG last night to try my samurai...
Walked in with my 400Hp rogue and behold i see rogue eact same level as me with..... wait for it ................1365 HP. Crusader enchant x2 and two 15 dps daggers.
I can say atleast that i got to 2nd of the list just 4 honour kills behind this rogue. (thanx the gods of azeroth he was horde hehehehhee).
Anyway other the fact that i still need to get the sneaky sneaky right ( i have a tendency to run up to guys , forgetting to stealth because im used to my pala) but later got a bit better.
One thing i want to know from you guys is how do you arange your action bar spells and in which order?
