Rogue (Skills List / Talent + Glyph Calc.)
Rogue DPS getting better in Patch 3.0.8
Patchwerk isn't necessarily the perfect test case for dps. It is a simple fight, but these days it is also getting very short and some classes thrive on short fights where they can maximize specific abilities or cooldowns. The rogues don't have to move, but neither do the hunters or Frostfire mages. The warriors aren't getting a ton of extra rage from collateral damage.

But I tend to agree that rogues are too low. They should look better in 3.0.8 when some of the 6000+ dps outliers are brought down some.

I think in retrospect rogues (talking Assassination really) were the victims of a couple of tricky bugs. We all freaked out at the damage they were doing near the end of beta and lowered their damage only to find later that a few poison bugs were causing some of the excessive damage.

The primary reason we haven't fixed it yet is because rogues seem to be doing very well in PvP and careless dps buffs for noble PvE purposes could just make that situation worse. I do apologize for the situation rogues are in currently and we hope it will look better after 3.0.8.

P.S. I know some players don't give a fig about PvP and are offended that we have to worry about PvP balance when solving PvE problems. WoW is enjoyed by a lot of different players for different reasons and we try to keep them all in mind.

We have a Combat rogue in our Guild.

Last night in NAXX I was only beaten by the numerous attempts by our hunter who is pretty well geared. And somtimes I even beat him. Reason I got second on DPS... I was the first to wipe after the tank /cry (Gief thread reducing talents)

Locks are doing insane DPS as affliction I could not belive the numbers. Our rogue was way down the order and she was doing very very well in TBC. That confirmed that there is a slight problem. And I can agree they need to be up'd a little. But don't know what will happen if she tries Assassination spec. Will try and ask her tonight to respec and see if it helps.

<3 Lock DPS now :)

she better try it before 3.0.8 :(, I am still combat swords and sorted out my tree and seem to be doing well in 25man raids 4-6 on dps list, and everyone knows that the combat rogue needs attention (there was a blue post somewhere admitting this and saying that blizz are looking into it, so dont pass on those naxx swords just yet).

Affliction Locks also PWNing your DPS meters ?

Sorry for asking, just curious. But I'll chat to her tomight and hear what she says. We will prob try and down the first boss in NAXX again so if she has daggers somewhere it will be a good tests :o

I'm rather sad about the Double offhand proc being fixed. I rerolled mutilate daggers after sucking so much bum as combat daggers.

My dps last night was +-3000 and top of our list. Rightly so, seeing as I was the best geared there.

I really do believe rogues have the short end of the stick. There are RARELY bosses that stand still long enough for the assassin build to sustain hungerforblood/slice&dice/rupture. We suck at trash mobs since we can't build up enough hitting power before the fight is over while the rest AoE their dps off the charts from hitting 20 targets at once.

Casters/hunters stand at the back and push dps while we keep having to run after the boss or run away during AoE.

Rogues don't have any other spec than single target melee dps. We lose loot rolls to huntards/ fury warriors / DKs AND shamans (oh and druids "incase" they want to go feral dps)

A rogue used to be deadly in PvP, but now when we meet pallies/DK's we might as well /afk.

I LOVE my assassin mutilate dagger build and the daggers are fitting for a typical ninja ... why should I respec to wear a crappy fist weapon and overdesigned non stealthy sword just to more dps?

lol each to their own i suppose, I love combat swords and even though mutilate has more dps I have gone back to swords. But u all knew that the mutilate dps was cause of a bug, and had to be fixed sooner or later. I think rogues as a whole should be looked at, cause our main roll is dps, and at the moment we battle to keep up with dks, etc.

I am busy rolling a druid, havnt decided which way i am going with him but keeps me busy while waiting for the raids to reset.
