Roku 3 Account

are you sure I don't need the step down transformer??

I tested it, no smoke and the output voltage is correct. And it works on the Roku 3.

My power supply was marked as 120v, came from Amazon USA.

But just a disclaimer, I cannot guarantee that your PSU is exactly the same as mine, so check the voltage before connecting your Roku.

Hi

I also got my Roku 3 from Amazon (glad I remembered I needed to use a step down transformer before I blew it...) anyway, my struggle was not getting it or paying for a subscription with Netflix (I used entropay) I struggled with hiding my dns and changing my VPN in order to be able to use Netflix (and other channels) the only way I could get things to finally work was by subscribing to "hidemyass" and using my laptop as a "tunnel" between my Roku and my router (the Roku is wired to the laptop and the laptop connects wirelessly with the router) anyway this setup is rather complicated and apparently my router (dlink dir-655) cannot be modified to allow PVN changes/hiding. Is there any other way you can suggest i can have a more user friendly setup?

Unotelly. All you need to do is setup their DNS on your router.

I tried Unotelly and it didn't work , It could be because I changed the DNS on my modem rather than on my router? (I have a basic netgear modem wired to the ADSL line and to it I have a Dlink (dir-655) router connected, maybe I should have made the changes on the router?...

Are you using PPPoE from the router to the modem via the Wan port? If so, then do it on the router. Whatever is initiating the connection basically.
If your router supports it, you can also set the DHCP to assign UnoTelly DNS.

Also make sure your Roku account is USA.

I use Unblockus.com to get a dns server on my Roku 3. Unatelly does not work for me. Unblockus works out to $5 a month. Can anyone please advise me how did they import from Amazon as they don't ship to South Africa. I bought mine via a local website which was very expensive. My nephew wants one too.

The Roku is shipped direct to your door from Amazon. The Ouya too. It is only select items that are not shipped to us.
