Which Roku? and are you using a proxy?

I have a Roku Streaming Stick+.
No I haven't set up any proxy or vpn on my router yet.

You're going to want to do this first to register the device. The country you choose effects the channel apps available to you.

Once I register the device, e.g. in the US, and I then remove the VPN details from my router (and the router gets a ZA IP address again), will the Roku still be able to access to US channels, or would I have to have my router obtain an US IP address every time I want to view the US channels?
