So I have been having an issue lately with my Roku. It is only with the most recent movies i have downloaded.

When i watch the movie playing through the amp, there is a sync issue, sound is off a bit.

However, when i plug in the earphones in to the Roku remote, where it streams the audio to the remote, the sound is in sync. Anyone can highlight what might be the issue here?

It is only with the latest downloads, for instance i tried to watch Arrival, out of sync, watched Deepwater Horizon and everything was hunky-dory

Roku premiere + into Sony amp out in to HDMI switcher to TV

Thanks

Thanks for this. Guess i will have to switch back to using my PS4 downstairs on the amp, and use the Roku upstairs for now straight in to the TV. From what i gather the problems only seems to occur with DD or DTS, but on stereo the lip sync issue disappears. This sucks considering i was so happy i finally purchased one of future 4K ability.

Some Sony Amps allow you adjust the Audio Sync: http://download.sony-europe.com/pub/manuals/html/Z003812111/EN/contents/TP0000299106.html

Thanks @patrick123. Still the question begs, now that i think about it. Both movies i tested were DD, so why would there be lip sync issues with the one and not the other. I would understand that there might be a hardware issue on their new 4K chips, but if it was truly a hardware issue the problem would be prevalent across all movies with DD?

I have the Roku 4 that can play 4K, I have not experienced any lipsync issue when streaming via plex.

Hi Drifter.

Maybe i can send this one back for the Roku 4 then. Are you streaming via ethernet or wireless? Seems this problem lies with the premier + and ultra
