Roku - UK or US account?

I just recently bought a roku 3 and have a us account setup with netflix and hulu both working well. Wanted to try out BBC iPlayer and quickly realised I needed a UK account for the channel to be available. There is some quality stuff on BBC iPlayer but if I switch to UK I will lose hulu access.

Just wondering if there is other worthwhile content on the UK accounts that might be worth the switch. Any people used both UK and US? Whats your preference?

For streaming... I prefer the UK content. I'm using BBC Ipayer, 4OD, 5Demand. Also - take a look at NowTV, I'm thinking of trying this...

When I was cutting the cable, I tried out lots of the U.S. Channels on roku including Netflix and Hulu, and wasn't blown away... It seemed like I needed a satellite or cable subscription in order to get what I wanted. So I went for the Media server route with Plex and nzb downloads... And the Roku plex client works perfectly for this

Same, I dont use Hulu and find the UK channels more relevent. The only thing I miss on the US one was CBS news's live stream, cant seem to find a decent live news streaming service on UK. Anyone else have any suggestions there?

My rokus are all set to US - I really enjoy Hulu. That said I've also got a NowTV box and that handles my UK fix.

I got my NowTV box in April. Absolutely loving it....especially the catchup and box sets. US Hulu on my Amazon firetv , and apart from the adverts, its all good

NowTV has been working well for me the last few months. It used to buffer excessively and always ran at very low quality. I moved to a WA capped account and everything working well now. Not sure if it was due to move to WA, or if they fixed the adaptive streaming.

The live stream still buffers at times, which is a pity because it's my favorite part of nowtv, but the on demand streaming is almost flawless.

Have you setup UnoTelly's SkyNews channel option and ensured your UnoTelly IP is updated.

SkyNews has always worked for me on Mweb, AH and WA.

Brilliant thanks, problem was with the dynamo setting. The Sky news specific setting was set to UK but I hadn't changed the "Channel 6" option. Once I did that, it started working.

Must say i only really do the streaming for my kids for the series / shows... for her movies i download it all... then it stays local so that my daughter can watch and re-watch... and when my son is old enough he can watch too!
As for my wife and myself... we watch so little TV anymore... its taken a year to get to S03E03 of Breaking bad! And my wife keeps nagging for the F E!Channel for E!News... I wish i could get that in a stable stream or be able to download it... but sadly i cant seem to.

Hulu i found the adverts were a pain... Netflix i thought the show selection was a little behind as i had just switched DSTV and i couldn't find the latest episode of Ray Donovan etc. Where I am now... i am contemplating Netflix / NowTV to try it since i dont care about being current... but since we watch so little TV it seems like a waste of moolah too.

What does work for me is having the Internet at home (fastest = 10meg line) - we get a lot more value out of it than the DSTV sub.
I've also got used to no adverts!

BUT if anyone has a fix for getting E!News, I'd love to try it! I did try Futubox and a couple similar options and it was buffery or v.blocky.

That would add a very important piece to my Roku. Since i cancelled my premium sub i've had to deal with various web based streams for enca. Thanks!
