Roms for Galaxy S1 (i9000)

Can anyone recommend a good rom (with a focus on speed) for my S1?

I tried running ICS for a while and it was a little slow and unresponsive. No surprises there given the hardware limitations of my phone. Still, right now I'm stuck on Gingerbread 2.3.3.

Is there anything out there that might be an improvement on this?

I was thinking of using this but none of the download links work anymore.

Have you tried cyanogenmod? They still support the phone with Jelly Bean but have older Gingerbread 2.3.7 and ICS downloads for the S1 as well.

I'm on CM10 and it's great so far. Bit of lag now and then, but nothing to write home about.

Cool, will try dig up an old 2.3.7 rom.

My S1 is dead slow on CM10, even when I was using CM9. After an install its nice and fast but a few days later it grinds to a halt. All I did was flash to CM10(ran a stable, now running a nightly) and GAPPS. Did you do anything else, like flashing the kernel?

Sorry, only saw this response now. Am quite a n00b – doesn't CM10 include a kernel?
