Hey guys,

I'm currently on a 1024 line with that telkom 3 month special and My internet speed has now dropped so low I can barely open pages in my browser. The router shows that it is synced at 1024 and when I run speed tests on SAIX it says my ping is below 40 every time but downloads speeds are 200 kb on average all day and late into the evening.

When I try run speedtest.net the page literally cant load the speed test tool...

I've used about 13GB of data all together and I'm not sure if I've breached they're acceptable usage policy or what?

What kind of downloads? Are you using torrents/news servers or other? If other, do you use a download manager? It creates multiple download threads, so you get the best download speed.

I download torrents mainly and its ridiculously slow (2-10kb) and I cant even download email attachments like 250 kb in size. I use uTorrent.

Have you tried using a different ISP's account to test whether the problem is with the line or the ISP?

its been slow but recently its become unusable. Last 3/4 days...

You still haven't answered the question...have you tried using a different ISP's account? Without doing this you have no way of knowing where the problem is and no chance of fixing it.

Sorry I'm not sure what question you're refering to?? I'm going to move to mweb fairly soon, once my 3 month free telkom trial is over, but for now I haven't got anyone else's details to try a different ISP...

I just dont understand the possible reasons why my connection is so slow but at the same time I can still play MW3 on Xbox live and not see any lag??

I am a bit of a noob :(

shoot me your phone number in pm and I'll reply with a screenshot of your line stats from the DSLAM side, just for info sake

Interwebs is sucking here by me too tonight. :p

P.S. I'm not missing SA tonight. But ask me again in a couple weeks when I'm trudging through snow to get to work. :o
