Hi, Noob here :D

On the System Panel Header on my ASrock Extreme 4 Z77 mobo, I am not sure whether to connect the Reset Switch connection to the dummy, or to ground:

My Power button connection plug has 2 connections, so I would imagine it takes up ground as well.

Also, the HD-LED connection is suppose to be connected in positive and negative, but on the connection plug, it only displays a small arrow on the one side - does this mean that side of the plug is positive?

Thanks for the help!

Connect the reset switch between GND and RESET#. Yes, the small arrow on the HDD LED connector indicates the positive wire.

Needs to be conneccted to the reset and ground pins. The arrow does indicate the positive side.

You can plug them into the wrong places for testing though as it won't damage anything as far as I'm aware. On some boards they colour code them and I just try them in different colours until they work because I'm too lazy to read the manual.

Ground and Reset. The dummy is just there to act as a plug holder (hence it is called the dummy)

Hi There,
I agree with what everyone else says about how to connect it. But I would encourage you and everyone else to read the documentation before starting work as it often assists and in some cases if it is well written, does provide options that you may not have been aware of when you purchased the board.
A little reading never hurt anyone in the headlong rush to play with the new technology

In other words, RTFM.
