Johannesburg - The victim of a vicious assault caught on video has spoken out on the harrowing incident which left her sporting multiple bruises.
In the video making the rounds on social media, a woman can be seen repeatedly slapping and kicking her roommate, Nonhlanhla Ngubeni, allegedly following a previous spat.
Ngubeni is seen cowering on the ground, trying to cover her face from her roommate's repeated blows.
Onlookers are heard pleading with the woman to stop her vicious assault while she tells them to mind their own business.
The video was shared online by the victim's cousin, with Police Minister Fikile Mbalula promising to look into the matter.
In a radio interview an emotional Ngubeni relayed how the assault unfolded.
"She was coming towards me and asked me: "Where do you think this will end up?".
"She then started pushing me. I also started defending myself and told her to leave me alone. She started slapping me and then we both tripped and fell on the ground."
After falling to the ground, the agressor began slapping and kicking the helpless Ngubeni.
Ngubeni detailed how her roommate repeatedly hit her head against the ground, at which point she began losing consciousness and bleeding.
"She told one of her friends to fetch more girls to witness what she was doing to me. When they came, they just stood there and watched," she recalled tearfully.
