Hello all

so this started about 2 years ago ..it was quite visible and then disappeared and then flares up now and then

so apparently related to stress and was caused by cortisones

I went to a dermatologist and he put me on a 6month course of doxycycline and a ivermectin ointment .

has anyone experienced this and has it ever gone away ?

its been about 4 months now im on the meds but im seeing improvement but not really going away

Stop the antibiotics ASAP. They're destroying your gut health (natural immunity).

What type of rosacea? Vascular (red face) or papulopustular (red face with pimples)?

I am guessing the latter due to ivermectin?

Dermatologists and their pharmacist arms are generally rather evil shortsighted people who happily prescribe antibiotics, cortisone, and other really evil products to treat symptoms and not causes which end up making problems worse. They do not think and assess holistically in order to treat causes.

I have spent years advising people on rosacea.

Since you have no pimples, the ivermectin is unlikely to help.

I don't believe the antibiotics – which you ought to stop immediately – will help either. They will only exacerbate the problem over time.

Since you seemingly have vascular rosacea, your only options are what was mentioned by @RedViking – namely food diary/diet change, lifestyle change (drinking/smoking/other things you are ingesting), etc.

Common triggers for people are tomatoes, chillies, coffee, alcohol, hot/cold changes, etc.

Mine prescribed Rozex Gel, it's a schedule 2 so you should be able to get it over the counter.
