Ok I just got a new Router because my old one didnt want to work in bridge mode...

So basically I have 2 routers:
Giga762SX Wireless Router
Marconi Premium Combo Wireless Router

The Giga is connected to the internet and everything is working 100% but the signal Im getting at my wireless PC (MEdia Center) is only 62% (not good enough to watch movies through the network)

Is there a way that I can use the Marconi as a Repeater to strengthen the signal?

--------------------

I've tried the following so far:
I switched the Marconi to bridge mode, plugged everything in except the telephone line, connected it to my Media Center via Ethernet and Wifi... Made the SSID and WAP keys the same for both routers?

So the Media Center detects both but the signal is 100% for one and 62% for the other one... OVerall it doesnt seem like its working?

I also switched of DHCP on the REPEATER/ROUTER and changed the Channel

Check that it supports WDS - wireless distribution system. I think both need to support it for the wireless ap to act as a repeater/extender

i hope i understand this correctly...
but yes u can.

I am not familiar with your routers, but check if the GIga allows its wireless network to be extended, if so great. Place the marconi half way between your media centre and your giga, join it to the giga wireless network and make it extend it and not just join it...

If the Giga does not have option for network to be extended, u will need WDS.
The Giga will be the main and u will usually have to add the mac address of the Marconi to it as a repeater. Select the marconi to be part of the WDS network, add the
mac address of the main (giga) and you are done.
I would suggest doing this all without encryption first...then add encryption when it works...

The Giga has under advanced option Repeater (WDA) tab, if I click on it it says:
The repeat function (WDS) is not supoorted since the WPA-PSK encryption method has been selected.
If you wish to use the WDS function, please select WEP encryption method; otherwise switch off encryption.

So I just have to switch the encryption? Then... ;)

Remember the Marconi is 2 years old...
