Greetings! Does anybody know if there exists, whether locally or otherwise, a fibre/ethernet router (with a USB socket, of course,) that is capable of hosting portable hard drives OVER 2TB in capacity? I want to get an 8TB Seagate external and be able to use it as a NAS, with an appropriate router... Any ideas?

I already know someone is going to come and say that Mikrotik supports SMB, so it will do, but people don't get a Mikrotik for that, Mikrotik sucks at handling files and suck as a file server. The Mikrotik SMB service was compromised not too long ago.

My Asus does this but in my experience the functionality has been... basic at best.
I've had better luck using a raspberry pi or an HP microserver dedicated to the job.

It is only USB2 but cost effective and surprised more people dont do this.
