Hi All

I have a 5102G which seem to work fine, but I cannot access the management of the router at all. Everything is working at the moment, but I'd like to make some changes. I cannot ping the router at 10.0.0.2, and cannot access the management on http or telnet.

Any suggestions?

I'm posting this through the device, and would like to reset it, but as I'm runnning a small business from home I'll rather get a standby device before resetting it, as I may not be able to get into it afterwards to setup my ISP account again. Any other ideas of how I could connect to this router?

Thanks :)

Run C:\>ipconfig /all and check your Default Gateway IP. Thats your router IP Lan' addy. Check if it's really 10.0.0.2, if not then use the gateway addy to connect to your router.

Hi Impregim, thanks for the response

I ran GFI Languard and the only address I could pick up was 10.0.0.2, and the only way it was picked is the fact that it has a MAC address. No ping response, no services, nothing else.

My default gateway is indeed 10.0.0.2.

I can only connect via http and telnet, right?

I read something about a Rom reset somewhere, thinking of going in that direction.

@ isense - there is a small hole at the back of the router, inside is a small switch.

Get a sharp object (pin or stiff wire) push it in and depress the switch for 6 seconds - this will reset the router to factory default values.

If you want to use the wireless part, then you'll need to upload the new software to the router - by default it won't work properly unless upgraded with new software. When upgrading the software it is recommended to switch the router off, wait a few minutes, and switch it on again after the software upgrade process finished.

You can connect via http, but I'm not sure about telnet.

The factory default is 10.0.0.2, username is admin and password is admin
